Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-06-28T00:36Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2024-06-28T00:36:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: S20E25
Note Keyword:
DFL: Likely deflection of the event within the FOV
DPL: CME exhibits dimpled front
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
HAL: Halo CME
Source Signature Keyword:
FLR: Flare
PEA: Post eruption arcade
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
BR: Brightening
Morphology Keyword:
O: Other
Note: Faint partial halo seen to the SE in SOHO LASCO C2/C3, and just to the SE in STEREO COR2A. The source for this CME is not entirely certain, but appears to originate from the cluster of ARs 3723, 3727, 3728, centered roughly around S20E25 (as such, this is used as the CME source coordinates). Some small C-class flaring is observed here as early as 2024-06-27T19:45Z, more noticeable closer to 2024-06-27T21:24Z possibly due to post-eruptive loops observed across SDO AIA 94/131/171/193. However, more confidence in this area is given via a good triangulation of the CME front between SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO COR2A in swpc_cat when measuring.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG LE true SWPC_CAT -9.0 -19.0 381.0 S 40.0 2024-06-28T09:07Z Measurement made via triangulation of the front between SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO COR2A, finding a fit roughly in the SE near the location of a cluster of ARs. The CME is notably faint and hard to follow in SOHO imagery due to the more direct angle, but STEREO imagery offers a better side-angle of the front that helps triangulate this as a front-sided longitude. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)
