Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-07-26T15:23Z ( STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-07-26T15:23:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: S08E35
Active Region Number: 13765
Note Keyword:
Faint: Faint event; may affect type assignment
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
Source Signature Keyword:
DIM: Dimming
Morphology Keyword:
O: Other
Note: Very faint CME seen to the E in SOHO C2/C3, and better in STEREO COR2A until a data gap begins at 2024-07-26T17:09Z. The source for this CME is likely a very broad area of dimming spanning approximately S10E15 to S10E50 observed over the tight cluster of ARs 3767, 3766, 3765, and 3764 beginning around 2024-07-26T13:00Z in SDO AIA 193, appearing centered the most around S08E35 near AR 3765.

If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

Measurement made by initially lining up with STEREO COR2A imagery as it is more clear, using the rough center of the dimming ~S08E35 as a start and finding some deflection when triangulating as best as possible with SOHO LASCO C2/C3. Some speculation exists with how faint SOHO observes this CME, and not every frame distinctly sees the front, best seen early in C2 and late in C3. |
