Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2025-01-18T02:00Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2025-01-18T02:00:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Note Keyword:
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
FIL: Filament eruption
DIM: Dimming
Morphology Keyword:
Note: This CME is visible to the N/NW in SOHO LASCO C2, C3, and to the N/NE in STEREO A COR2 following the front of the CME first seen in SOHO LASCO C2 at 2025-01-18T01:36Z. There are two potential sources for this CME. The first source of this CME could be associated with the same M1.7 flare from AR 3964 (N06W34) as the 18/01:36Z CME, however there is a simultaneous small filament eruption from an area to the SE of the main flaring AR location. This filament eruption (~S15W12) is the second potential source and is located above the large Earth-facing coronal hole which may have contributed to significant deflection of the CME.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG LE true SWPC_CAT 14.0 26.0 530.0 C 24.0 2025-01-18T08:01Z Parameters based on best fit of CME using SOHO LASCO C3 and STEREO A COR2 imagery. Due to the overlapping nature of this CME and the CME first seen in SOHO LASCO C2 at 2025-01-18T01:36Z, there is a bit of uncertainty with the parameters. The separate front of this CME is more clearly seen in STEREO A COR2 imagery than it is in SOHO LASCO imagery, adding to the complexity of this analysis. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)
