Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2025-09-28T09:00Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
GOES: CCOR-1
Activity ID: 2025-09-28T09:00:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: N03E59
Active Region Number: 14232
Note Keyword:
DPL: CME exhibits dimpled front
FOV: Front Bright front; may be evidence of pileup
GAP: Data gap
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
FLR: Flare
FIL: Filament eruption
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
BR: Brightening
Morphology Keyword:
FS: Flux Rope and Shock Candidate
Note: Somewhat asymmetrical CME directed eastward in all 3 coronagraphs (SOHO LASCO C2/C3, STEREO A COR2 and GOES CCOR-1). It has a clear follow-up front, best seen in CCOR-1. Its source is likely the impulsive M6.4 flare from AR 14232 (N03E59) seen in GOES-Secondary X-ray flux timeline (eclipsed in GOES-Primary) and with the associated significant fan-like filament/prominence eruption seen off/behind the SE limb in STEREO A EUV 304 and close to the limb in GOES SUVI 304 starting at 2025-09-28T08:45Z. There is also a minor brightening and a very minor opening of field lines near the E limb in GOES SUVI 195.

If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

Later analysis based on a good fit with two coronagraphs (SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2), also fitting GOES CCOR-1. This analysis is confirmed by the location of the CME source (M class flare from AR 14232), however there seems to be some eastward deflection from the location of this Active Region, based on the fit with coronagraphs. |

Very preliminary analysis based on the location of the flare, with no SOHO LASCO C3 imagery yet and with an imperfect fit with GOES CCOR-1 and STEREO A COR2 coronagraphs. Needs to be reanalyzed once more LASCO imagery becomes available. |
