Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2026-04-03T15:02Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
Activity ID: 2026-04-03T15:02:00-IPS-001 (version 2)
Quality of ICME Signature: 1 (lacks some signatures)
Note: Characterized by an amplification of magnetic field components from 5nT at 2026-04-03T15:02Z to 14nT at 2026-04-03T15:15Z. A subsequent increase in solar wind speed is observed from 616 km/s to ~800 km/s at 2026-04-03T15:12Z. An increase in temperature is also observed around this time, increasing from ~50,000 K to ~800,000 K. This interplanetary shock is likely associated with the arrival of CME: 2026-04-01T23:45Z.
